   It’s not a strict Tetris clone, but I always loved playing Klax on my TG16.

   Block Out (3D-Tetris arcade game) is also a good one.

   Does Dr. Mario count? Because I always felt that was meant to capitalize on Tetris-mania. I was deeply obsessed with Dr. Mario on the NES.

   Curious post this week. Any chance it was meant to coincide with Mattchat’s new interview series with the Tetris creator, Alexey Pajitnov? 🙂

   SNES was my first home console, and Wordtris was the first Tetris-alike game to come out for it in the U.S., so Wordtris does get me right in the heart, but in real life with perfect hindsight, probably Tetris Battle Gaiden or some form of Bombliss. Maybe Super Tetris, but I don’t know if it’s actually as good as I remember it being.

   Never heard of this game, but it looks AWESOME. I’ll definitely be checking it out as soon as I can.

   I ADORE Pokemon Puzzle League for the N64 (and its companion Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the Game Boy Color), two games I play far more than any match-3 puzzle game on mobile phones.

   I do like me some straight vanilla Tetris. But I also love Tetrisphere on the N64. Very satisfying chaining drops together to power up your mega-bombs. And the soundtrack is one of the best video game soundtracks of all time in my opinion.
