Why I Love Japan
November 7th, 2007 by Benj EdwardsBecause they make game covers like this:
Ah — nothing like a Japanese Famicom Disk System classic. Is anybody out there willing to attempt an interpretation of this game’s synopsis from this picture alone? You’re up for a serious challenge.
Heck, I’ve played it and I still don’t know what it’s about.

It’s clearly a V For Vendetta party game!

Justin, you beat me to it! When I saw the mask, that’s exactly what I thought of.

I Hope that I am not the only one who thinks this looks a lot like Michael Jackson.

Omoikkiri Tanteidan Haado Gumi – Matenrou no Chousenjou is the romanji(?) version. Except that it’s actually not translatable to English with Google or Babelfish.
I want to say V for Vendetta meets a balloon operator meets the three ninjas

Ah yes, I know this one. In the game “Disk System” by Ban Dai, V launches an insidious plot to bring Japan’s economy to its knees by plastering major cities with confusing credit card logos that only he can decipher. Naturally, V can only be stopped by a team of apprentice plumbers who ride around in a balloon humming the original Final Fantasy airship theme. You play as the balloon.

Has anybody noticed that one of the kids is holding a metal detector?

That’s a toilet plunger! Hence, plumbers!

I’m totally confused by this, is it some kind of power-rangers thing, with them all wearing different colours and the guy in the background being the “bad guy”…
Still, bloody crazy.
