From the golden era of fancifully-rendered video game character depictions comes this gem, a scan from the instruction manual of the Atari 800 version of
Pac-Man. Considering what we actually see in the game, the illustrator (“HIRO”) has chosen quite a liberal interpretation of Pac-People, drawing them as anthropomorphic, rubbery stick figures with giant round heads. For more of Hiro’s skinny Pac-Men, check out

While I remember the cover, I hadn’t seen the inside. That is pretty wicked =)

It says the bad guys are goblins. I was sure they were ghosts…

They all seem pretty cheerful despite the fact that many are not expected to make it back alive. Maybe their mood is lifted by the assortment of pin-ups in the bunker.
