This incredible Apple II-themed painting was scanned from the cover of a small 1982 brochure titled, “Your Guide To Apple Service And Support.” I personally think it’s an excellent piece of art, apparently by an artist named “Weller.” Weller, if you find this, please drop me a line and let me know if you did any more computer-related paintings.
Great stuff. It reminds me of Peter Max.

Brilliant water-color painting…. Tempera, right?

Ahhh, the good old days…none of this trendy monochromatic logo stuff.

It is great piece of work, but I hesitate to mention the unintended funny thought I instantly got when I saw the rainbow and the very “happy” gentlemen. Hmmmnnnn…

…not to mention the holepunch, is it?

I thnk it’s a pair of pliers, Sharktar. 🙂
And since when does having a hole punch make you gay? I better talk to our publishing department.

Haha, you know it does look like a pair of pliers. My mind must have been in the gutter. Not that there is anything wrong with that…

Stevebox…the holepunch is symbolic of….ummm…things getting “punched” in holes…

The artist is Don Weller, a popular illustrator of the 80’s. He did a lot work for a wide variety of clients and was well respected in the illustration world. You can see what he’s up to at:

Don Weller was the artist doing bright water colors for advertising in the 70’s style.
